Name: Instituto Central de Idiomas Address: Poniente 7 No. 261 Orizaba C.P. 94300 Phone: 725-0045

A small institute that teaches all age ranges. They welcome native-speaker applicants, but the pay may not be that great at around only 25 pesos per hour. More can be negotiated by experienced native-speakers with a good teaching background and experience, so its worth it to check them out when you’re looking. They won’t pay for your FM-3 (immigration work permit) but will help you with the paperwork, which is required by law if you’re going to be working for at least 6 months to a year.

Working in Bilingual Primary Schools:

Featuring English as a prominent part of the curriculum, these three bilingual schools welcome native-speakers who can commit to a one year contract to teach in Pre-school or Primary. Experience teaching children is a plus as is a teaching certificate, but conditions can be flexible, so it’s best to call or fax them for possibilities well in advance. November through January and June through August are good times to line something up for the upcoming school year, although teaching as a part-timer, or a substitute are other viable possibilities. If you’re enterprising, a class in American culture or history, or even “specialized English” could be offered to the schools including holiday-related activities.
